WAPT-TV, the Hearst owned station in Jackson, MS, has an opening for a Business/Human Resources Manager. This role is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to have responsibility for many functions within a fast-paced business. If you are an analytical numbers person but also have an interest in supporting people, this is a great opportunity for you. This position is a unique blend of Human Resources and finance/accounting activities. You will also work collaboratively with a regional finance team on the monthly financial closing and the annual budget process. The ideal candidate must possess excellent and positive communications skills and interact well with others.  In-office presence is required. You will report to the Station General Manager.

Human ResourcesEmployee relationsOnboarding/offboardingLeave and workers compensation managementBenefit related assistanceEmployee data management through Oracle HCMPerformance managementPayrollBi-weekly and weekly payroll review/processing/reconciliation through ADPPrepare monthly reports from ADPGeneral Business Functions Interpretation and communication of financial resultsLiaison between station and regional finance team on financial reportingForecasting and budgeting of station revenues and operating expensesAccounts Payable & ExpensesInvoice processing and approvalReview/approval of activity for purchasing & travel and entertainment cardsLocal operating contract maintenanceSales/Use Tax reportingFleet Management

What we are looking for:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsHighly detail oriented and organizedAbility to meet assigned deadlines and prioritize multiple responsibilities accordinglyAbility to interpret and analyze various levels of financial data and provide guidance and recommendationsAbility to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish directives 

Experience:

Related experience and/or training considered as well as a combination of education and experience2+ years HR experience. PHR/SPHR/SHRM-CP/SCP is a plusPayroll experience a plusPrevious accounting/finance experienceProficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power PointExperience in HR and Accounting software applications including Oracle (HCM & EPBCS) and ADPHearst Television is a proud supporter of military veterans.
