What You'll Do

 Own the feed: Publish urgent, accurate news articles that reach our audience on

WTVA.com and our entire family of mobile and TV apps.

 Drive social engagement: Partner with our Digital Content Manager to oversee and

grow our social media presence across Facebook, X, Instagram, and beyond.

 Elevate our platforms: Provide daily upkeep and strategic improvements to our digital

platforms, ensuring our user experience is top-tier.

 Lead with urgency: Respond quickly to breaking news, sending push alerts and

updating stories in real-time to keep our audience first and best informed.

 Package for impact: Use your video and photo editing skills to create compelling visual

elements that make our digital stories stand out.

 Collaborate for growth: Work across the newsroom to ensure our best broadcast stories

are optimized for a digital-first audience.

 Master the tools: Use everything from basic HTML to Google Sheets to keep our digital

operation running like a well-oiled machine.

What You Bring

 The Credentials: A Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or

equivalent experience.

 Killer Writing Skills: Excellent spelling, grammar, and copy-editing skills—you’re the

final line of defense for accuracy and clarity.

 Social Media Savvy: Extensive experience navigating and managing social platforms to

drive reach and engagement.

 Technical Agility: A basic understanding of HTML coding and proficiency in video and

photo editing software.

 Grit and Urgency: You thrive in fast-paced, sometimes stressful environments and aren't

afraid to work overtime when the big story breaks.

 Software Fluency: You’re a pro with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (Docs,

Sheets, etc.).

 A "Team-First" Attitude: You’re a great newsroom citizen who values collaboration

and has a relentlessly positive attitude.
