Job Title: Digital Media Specialist
Salary: $43,509.31
Mississippi Public Broadcasting is seeking an experienced digital media professional to create,
manage and optimize digital content for the agency. Candidates should have solid, proven
experience and competency in developing and measuring a variety of successful digital
campaigns using industry best practices across a variety of media software.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE:
Implement effective communications campaigns for distribution across all MPB
platforms and content channels
Create content that can be measured against current and newly developed KPIs
Management of various digital platforms, including websites, social media, email
campaigns, content management software and more
Conduct audience research and monitor analytics data to inform content and strategy
decisions across platforms
Optimize content across our online presence, Public Media App, and newsletters and
build design for specific platform use
Promote and protect the MPB brand, maintain brand guidelines and maximize brand
awareness
Assist Communications Director and Digital Media Strategist with digital marketing
content, usage and placement
Collaborate with designers, copywriters, and other team members and departments to
produce high-quality digital content
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, tools, best practices and software offered by
public media partners
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university
Background in digital marketing, web design or similar field
Proficiency in social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn)
Familiarity with key analytics platforms and terminology
Creative mindset with attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong writing and communication skills and experience in graphic design. Knowledge of Adobe
Suite, Microsoft O365, Sprout Social, and distribution platforms such as Constant Contact.
Strong internal and external networking skills. Web development software experience such as
Wordpress, Drupal, and other Content Management Software including SaaS.

Can you walk us through a recent web development project you've led or
contributed to, including your role, the tools you used, and the outcomes?
Purpose: Assesses technical expertise, familiarity with CMS (e.g., WordPress/Drupal), front-
end/back-end skills, and project management experience.
What experience do you have working with SaaS platforms (like CRM, CMS,
analytics, or marketing automation tools), and how have you integrated them
into digital campaigns?
Purpose: Evaluates practical experience with platforms such as Salesforce, Mailchimp,
HubSpot, Google Analytics, or similar tools used in nonprofit/public media contexts.
How do you approach creating and segmenting email marketing campaigns to
increase engagement and avoid deliverability issues?
Purpose: Tests strategic thinking around audience targeting, content strategy, A/B testing, and
compliance with anti-spam laws (e.g., CAN-SPAM).
What tools and methods do you use to track, analyze, and report on web and
digital campaign performance?
Can you give an example of how your insights
led to a specific improvement?
Purpose: Tests experience with tools like Google Analytics, Hotjar, or Matomo and the ability
to turn data into actionable recommendations.
