live stream, on-demand episodes of both radio and television favorites and the latest

from MPB news, the MPB App provides listeners and viewers with a way to stay

connected, no matter where in the world they may be. MPB reaches over 50,000 people

a day through various social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and

Instagram. MPB's social channels provide information, news and entertainment around

the clock, even in emergency situations.

About the Position

MPB is seeking a Human Resources Manager to lead the daily operations and strategic

direction of the Human Resources Office. This position reports to the Chief Financial

Officer to strategically plan short-term and long-term human resource goals that support

MPB’s mission and strategic priorities. Responsible for talent acquisition and retention,

classification and compensation, workforce and leadership development, employee

relations, performance management, and benefits administration. Serves as primary

liaison to statewide HR partners, including the Mississippi State Personnel Board and

other state agencies. Responsible for agency compliance with state and federal

employment laws and internal policy. Must have a working knowledge of the State

Employee Handbook, MSPB Variable Compensation Plan, and MSPB Policies and

Procedures. Must be able to provide guidance and ensure compliance with applicable

state and federal employment laws including FMLA, ADA, Title VII, FLSA, and workers’

compensation requirements. Maintains the Performance Review System for the agency.

Oversees benefits management for the agency. Manages and advise on employee

relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary actions, investigations, and

terminations, with a focus on fairness, consistency, and risk mitigation. This is an

Exempt, non-state service position that serves at the will and pleasure of the executive

What you'll need to be Successful

Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate

complex HR and policy issues clearly to a variety of audiences, excellent organizational

skills, ability to maintain confidentiality, working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite,

MAGIC EC, SPAHRS, and NEOGOV applicant tracking and onboarding system.

Professional and courteous attitude, ability to prioritize and manage time with little

supervision. High standard of ethics, deadline driven.

Preferred Qualifications

Typically requires a bachelor's degree, 10 years of human resources experience and 3-

4 years of supervisory experience. Experience using SPAHRS, MAGIC EC, and

NEOGOV. Previous experience handling grievances, hiring, terminations, and

disciplinary actions.
