Newscast Producer

WXXV-TV (NBC and FOX) Gulfport/Biloxi on the beautiful Mississippi Gulf Coast is hiring a full time Newscast Producer.

This position comes with paid vacation and benefits available. We broadcast seven hours of news on weekdays, and an hour and a half of news on Sunday nights, including South Mississippi’s only 9 PM newscast and the only four-hour morning newscast in the market. WXXV-TV is located in Gulfport, Mississippi, just a one-hour drive from New Orleans.

Brief Description of Duties: Create news rundowns with quality stories. Strong news writing and editing skills. Proficient in Adobe Premiere and Edius non-linear editing software Must be willing to work mornings, nights, and weekends as assigned, and be willing to fill in on other shifts for other producers.

Must be willing to develop strong interpersonal relationships with colleagues and members of the community.

The ideal candidate must have a mindset of constant growth, and be open to critiques of their work and regular coaching to improve their skillset. The ideal candidate should have a passion for news and journalism, and be willing to seek out stories and content to enhance their newscasts, beyond just the local stories our reporters gather each day.

Position Requirements: • BA/BS in Journalism, Communications or related field is preferred • Must be organized with the ability to work under time pressure deadlines • ENPS/non-linear video editing experience is preferred
